On Orientation day all visiting students are introduced to the various students’ associations, including theUniversity Students’ Counciland theErasmus Student Network. These students’ associations organize various on and off campus activities for students, including trips to Gozo. Visiting students will also be explained on how to join as members to the University of Malta Sports Club, so as to participate in sport activities. Visiting students are also encouraged to participate in the University of Malta open week, where they share information on their country and culture with the visitors.

来访的学生ents are also encouraged to take part in the information session prepared for outgoing exchange local students, where they promote their University and country as study abroad destinations. During holidays and over breaks visiting students normally take the opportunity to travel to nearby destinations, since Malta’s national airport has excellent intercontinental connections. The island’s strategic location can serve as an ideal departure point for destinations in Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

来访的学生ents studying at the University of Malta would normally be advised on the classes and on the number of credits (ECTS) they need to register for by the academic advisers at their home University. Visiting students may register for a minimum of 8 ECTS and a maximum 30 ECTS per semester. The University of Malta has various subjects areas open for visiting students, which can beviewed here. Visiting students are advised to have extra classes in mind in case of any clashes in the lecture schedule.

For those students who do not have the English language as their mother tongue, theEnglish Language Proficiency Requirementis needed.

来访的学生ents have the opportunity to enroll for DegreePlus classes. The areas covered by DegreePlus include Voluntary Work, Entrepreneurship, Sport, Culture and Heritage, International Relations, Languages, Music, Creative and Performing Arts and many more. DegreePlus classes will be shown on one’s transcript, they carry no Grades or ECTS, but students will obtain a DegreePlus Certificate on successful completion of the course.More information on DegreePlus.

• 来访的学生ents are normally advised to have a 2.75 GPA or above average, however each student’s application will be seen on a case by case basis.
• A Medical health form would need to be submitted with the application for visiting students.
• United States citizens do not require a visa to enter Malta. All international students who stay for more than 3 months (ie 90 days) should apply for an e-residence document, kindly refer to thee residence document page.
• 来访的学生ents are required to fill in the student card and registration card, received in their acceptance package, and bring these with them filled in on orientation day. Instructions on filling these will be listed in the student’s acceptance package.
• In line with the Maltese Legislation, the University of Malta requires all NON-EU International students to undertake medical health tests within 15 days of their arrival in Malta . Reference is made to L.N. 29 of 2008, Conditions of Admission of Third Country Nationals for the purposes of Studies Regulations 2008
• Application deadlines are follows:
  • Students applying for the First Semester or Full Academic Year (Commencing in October): 1st June
  • Students applying for the Second Semester (Commencing in February): 1st November

• The University of Malta program runs from the end of September/beginning of October until June/July. Students may opt to study for one semester or one academic year. Normally students from the USA would opt either for the full academic year or the 2nd Semester (Feb-June).
• In cases where the student wishes to withdraw from the program, the program coordinator, Marlene Debono, would need to be informed.
