Description:Below are the PowerPoint presentations of the April 2011 gathering of technical, commercial, and public policy experts to review the state of the art and discuss a roadmap to expand the use of local, clean, and sustainable Michigan bioenergy. Michigan expends over $30B each year energy and fuels, with over $24B leaving our state. Although much attention has been paid to bio-based transportation fuels, roughly half of Michigan’s energy expenditures occur in buildings: residential, commercial, and industrial. This annual $24B of funds leaving Michigan can be addressed in large part by the vast biomass resources within our state. Come to the Michigan BioEnergy Conference to network with experts in conventional and emerging technologies who will provide the tools to help us capitalize upon Michigan’s vast biomass resources. The result will be the reduction in carbon emissions, the creation of jobs & sustainable businesses, and the fostering of a new sustainable energy economy.

Thefocus was be networking and information exchange between potential project developers, interested project host institutions, and commercial available technology providers.
