Rebecca Cheezum, MPH, PhD

Research/Scholarship:
Dr. Cheezum’s research explores the way social and structural factors impact health among vulnerable populations, including low-income communities of color, youth of color, immigrants, and those who have experienced chronic homelessness. She explores how marginalized communities can advocate for policy change in order to improve their health. Dr. Cheezum uses a community-based participatory research approach for much of her research, engaging communities in my research throughout the research process. Dr. Cheezum’s professional background includes community-based youth development and HIV prevention work in Boston, Maine, and the West Indies.

Personal Interests:
Dr. Cheezum enjoys reading, writing, cooking, baking, hiking, biking, exploring new cities, but most of all, she loves spending time with her family.
